The Croft Fund

Access to Care, Powered by Community

Expanding Access

to Mental Health & Substance Use Treatment

The Croft Fund exists to remove financial barriers to clinically appropriate care.

Substance use and mental health disorders are chronic, complex conditions that require comprehensive, sustained treatment. For many individuals and families, the cost of care — especially long-term residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs, or specialized dual-diagnosis services — is prohibitively high. Insurance coverage is often limited, inconsistent, or denied altogether. Out-of-pocket costs can quickly become overwhelming.

The Croft Fund aims to bridge this gap.

Through donor-supported financial assistance, The Croft Fund helps cover treatment costs that are not otherwise reimbursed — including clinical assessments, therapeutic services, transitional housing, and continuing care planning. By alleviating this financial burden, we enable individuals to access the full continuum of care necessary for long-term recovery.

Our approach is guided by clinical best practices, equity in access, and a deep belief in the dignity and potential of every person seeking help.

When you contribute to The Croft Fund, you’re not just giving money — you’re investing in evidence-based treatment, reduced relapse rates, healthier families, and stronger communities.

Why Long-Term Recovery Matters

Most treatment programs are designed to last 28 to 30 days. Research, however, indicates that this timeframe is insufficient for sustained recovery. The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that treatment under 90 days is generally ineffective, while individuals engaged in 12 to 18 months of continuous care are nearly twice as likely to maintain long-term recovery.

Relapse rates after a single 30-day program often reach 60–70% within the first year. In contrast, ongoing treatment across residential, outpatient, and aftercare settings can reduce relapse risk to around 30–40% and is linked to better mental health, housing, employment, and family stability.

The evidence is clear: longer, connected treatment significantly increases the odds of lasting recovery.
